A child protective services caseworker and former police officer is under arrest after police say he was in possession of child porn.

According to the United States Attorney TMs Office, 53-year-old Stanley Dorozynski of Frankfort, New York has been charged with two felony counts of receiving and possessing child pornography. Officials say Dorozynski TMs 47-year-old girlfriend and her nine-year-old daughter found images of children engaged in sex acts on his computer while they were living with him. Some of the children were reported to possibly be as young as four years old.

A police search of Dorozynski's home allegedly turned up more images and videos of children involved in sexual activity.

Dorozynski, a caseworker with Oneida County Child Protective Services and former Utica Police officer, appeared in federal court Tuesday and was remanded to the custody of United States Marshals. He is scheduled to return to court for a detention hearing on Thursday.

Oneida County Social Services Commissioner Lucille Soldato told the Associated Press Tuesday that she was aware of the charges against Dorozynski, but declined to comment further.

Sgt. Steve Hauck of the Utica Police Department said Dorozynski was a Utica police officer from July 1980 to July 2000. He has been a child protective services case worker since 2008.

The U.S. Attorney TMs Office says if convicted of these felonies Dorozynski faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in federal prison, a maximum term of imprisonment of 20 years, fines of up to $250,000, and mandatory supervised release of no less than five years. He would also have to register as a sex offender.
