Former North Syracuse bus driver pleads guilty to 6 counts of rape

      Joseph Sanfilippo

46-year-old Joseph Sanfilippo of Cicero, a former school bus driver, pleaded guilty today in Onondaga County Court to six counts of felony third degree rape and one count of endangering the welfare of a child.

Sanfilippo was arrested in June 2013, accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl.

The incidents happened between December 2012 and June 2013.

Judge Anthony Aloi says he will sentence Sanfilippo to three years in prison at sentencing, which is scheduled for June 25.

Sanfilippo is currently out on $2,500 bail.

Sanfilippo was a North Syracuse School District substitute bus driver until his arrest last year.
