Former Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson to talk baseball, World War II

Former Washington Nationals manager Davey Johnson will be talking about more than baseball when he's in Syracuse for a hot stove event hosted by the team's Triple A affiliate.
Johnson will meet Friday with 97-year-old Don Waful, a former Syracuse Chiefs president who shared a barracks with Johnson's father, Fred, when the two men were prisoners of the Germans during World War II.
Last fall, the minor league team's general manager told Johnson about Waful's connection to his father, who died in 1984.
Johnson says his father didn't talk about his wartime experiences, including the two years he spent as a POW.
Waful still has a black-and-white photo of himself, Fred Johnson and the other six men who shared a barracks at the POW camp.
