Police say four people have been injured after a boat slammed into a Lake Ontario pier near Rochester.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says emergency dispatchers received a report around 11 p.m. Thursday that a boat had hit the Summerville Pier, located at the mouth of the Genesee River in the town of Irondequoit, just east of Rochester.
A U.S. Coast Guard crew based nearby responded and found that a man and woman in their 40s and two teenagers had been injured. All four were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Deputies say the injuries don't appear to be life-threatening.
Police say alcohol may have been a factor.
In June 2008, three people were killed and two others injured when the boat they were riding in hit the same pier.
