Four people were taken to the hospital after a two-car collision that shut down Higby Road in New Hartford Thursday afternoon.
New Hartford Police and Fire Department responded to the crash around 2:50 p.m. Police investigation revealed one vehicle operated by Lynn Coretz was parked along the shoulder of the road and attempted to re-enter traffic. At this point she was struck by a passing car driven by Aaron Pratt.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage. The road had to be closed for a period of time until one of the car's could be removed from traffic. Both Coretz and her passenger and Pratt and his passenger were taken to the hospital for further evaluation. They were both issued traffic tickets and will return to the New Hartford Court at a later date.
