Four suspects on the loose after robbery at Mobil Station on James Street

Syracuse Police are investigating a robbery that happened Saturday January 4 at about midnight at the Mobil Gas station at 2400 James Street.

Police are looking for four black men who went into the store and tried to distract the clerk by smashing a bottle in the back corner of the store, attempting to draw the clerk away from the register.

When the clerk didnâ??t respond, the suspects became aggressive with a customer, announcing that they were committing a robbery, police say.

One suspect reached into his jacket as if he was holding a gun, but he did not show one.

The suspects stole money and cartons of cigarettes, and were last seen running east on James Street.

Police say there were no injuries during the robbery.
