Four teens arrested after shots fired near Catherine Street in Syracuse

Four people were arrested after officers heard shots fired near Catherine and East Willow Streets at about 2:10am on April 21, according to Syracuse Police.

An officer heard three shots fired while driving on East Willow Street. He was flagged down by a man who told him the shots came from behind an apartment complex on the 500 block of Catherine Street.

The officer noticed a car pulling out of the parking lot of the complex without its lights on. The vehicle was pulled over a few blocks away and the four passengers were taken into custody without incident.

Officers found a loaded sawed-off shotgun inside the vehicle, and later found a window at 505 Catherine Street that had been shot out by gunfire.

Police arrested and charged 18-year-old Jayquan Scott, 18-year-old Tyree Tatum and two girls, ages 15 and 16 with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

No one was injured in the incident.
