The Cancer Services Program of Oneida-Herkimer-Madison Counties is offering free mammograms and pap tests to uninsured women ages 40 and older in conjunction with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
As part of the 4th annual "Love Yourself Screening Event," eligible women can call the Cancer Services Program and schedule the free screenings to be performed at any one of eight participating providers throughout the three counties during the week of October 21st.
Anyone getting a mammogram during that week will receive a free gift bag and can register to win a pair of silver drop pink stone earrings courtesy of Engelbert's Jewelers and one of eight pink jewelry boxes donated by Mele Companies. Women 50 years of age and older can also receive a free at-home colon cancer screening kit.
The Cancer Services Program partnership, a program of the Oneida County Health Department, includes health care providers, physicians and volunteer agencies including Oneida Healthcare, Faxton-St.Luke's Healthcare, Bassett Healthcare Network, St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Rome Hospital, Mohawk Glen Imaging, Community Memorial Hospital and Planned Parenthood.
