A Fulton man is facing a slew of charges, accused of leading police on a chase while driving drunk.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say 30-year-old Joseph Vanlinder, of 24 Ingersoll Drive, was driving westbound on CR 4 when he failed to stop at a stop sign at CR 6 in the Town of Volney.

When deputies tried to pull him over, they say, he stopped, then drove off, leading police on a chase through the Town of Scriba. But it didn't end there.

Deputies say Vanlinder briefly stopped on CR 51A to let a passenger out, then kept going. They say he finally lost control turning onto SR 104, causing the car to land in a ditch. But the chase continued. Deputies say Vanlinder ran into a wooded area where he was finally arrested.

He's charged with fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, driving while intoxicated, aggravated unlicensed operation, unlawful possession of marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign. He was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court and sent to the Oswego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. He's scheduled to be back in court on June 16th.
