Investigators say a Fulton man was high on heroin when he drove off the highway, into the woods, and into a tree late Tuesday night.
30-year-old Kevin Lagray is accused of driving drugged.
Onondaga County sheriff's deputies say someone saw him swerve from the right lane of traffic, into the left, then into the median on Route 481 just after 11:30 p.m. It happened in the Town of Clay, just north of the Caughdenoy Road Exit.
According to the account, Lagray swerved back across both lanes, and then drove into the woods along the right side of the highway for about 40 yards. That was until he crashed into a tree.
Emergency responders got him out of the car and took him to Upstate University Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. He is expected to be alright.
Lagray was arrested at the hospital and charged with driving while his ability was impaired by drugs.
