Voters for the Fulton City School District approved a $4.4 million referendum Tuesday night to upgrade school buildings.
The referendum passed with 185 â??yesâ?? votes to 92 â??noâ?? votes.
Renovations will include a new gym floor at Lanigan School and replacing all interior locks throughout the district for increased security. These renovations will happen over the summer of 2014.
Renovation plans also include building an athletic storage complex and replacing the roofs at Lanigan School and Granby Elementary. The roof work will happen in the summer of 2015.
Money for the project comes from state building aid.
