Fundraiser started to support family of 11 year-old killed while riding bicycle

Elijah Dibble

Just days after 11 year-old Elijah Dibble was killed while riding his bike in Oneida County, a campaign has been started to try and raise money for his family.

Dibble was riding his bike out of his driveway Monday afternoon when he was hit by a car traveling west on State Route 20.

He sustained massive head and chest injuries from the accident and was rushed via helicopter to Upstate Medical Center, where he died later that afternoon.

The accident was deemed unavoidable, and no charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the car, 27 year-old Eric Hale of West Winfield.

The campaign started by friends of the family hopes to raise $5,000 by the end of the month, which will go towards medical and funeral expenses. Currently, it has raised $3,680. Click this link to donate money to the Dibble family.
