      Funeral arrangements announced for Westhill High School senior Anna Pullano

      Funeral arrangements are set for the Westhill High School senior Anna Pullano, who was killed after an accident with a Centro bus over the weekend.

      Anna Pullano , 18, was driving her SUV when it crossed into the path of a Centro bus near the Syracuse University campus just after 12:30 Saturday morning.

      Family and friends will have an opportunity to pay their final respects Tuesday evening during calling hours at St. Margaret's Church on Roxboro Road in Mattydale, Tuesday evening. Calling hours will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 11. Pullano will be buried in Woodlawn Cemetery.

      Classes at the high school will be canceled on Wednesday so Anna's teachers and classmates can attend her funeral.Anna's friends remember her as upbeat, kind, and compassionate. Westhill Superintendent Casey Barduhn says the entire Westhill school community is mourning her loss. "Her upbeat and caring heart will always be remembered by friends, classmates and teachers. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pullano family. Words alone cannot begin to express our grief," Barduhn said. Counseling staff and teachers are offering support to students.

      Her family says Anna was a loving big sister to seven siblings, and was looking forward to the arrival of an eighth sibling expected to be born this summer.Anna aspired to one day own her own photography business. She was planning to attend Savannah College of Art and Design this fall.

      Police say Pullano was driving along the 900 block of Comstock Avenue when she crossed in front of a Centro Bus that was going toward the Syracuse University Campus. Pullano, who was alone in her vehicle, was taken to Upstate University Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
