Funeral arrangements are now set for a New York State Trooper killed while on duty.
Calling hours for Amanda Anna are Thursday, May 31 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Foster Funeral Home at 910 Fay Street in Fulton.
The funeral is scheduled for Friday, June 1 at 10 a.m. at the North Syracuse Baptist Church at 420 South Main Street in North Syracuse.
Graveside services at the cemetary are for family and invited guests only.
Trooper Anna, 31, of Liverpool, was traveling west on County Route 37 in the Town of Hastings late Friday night when she changed directions in an attempt to stop a violator, according to State Police. She apparently lost control on a curve. The SUV hit a guide rail, went airborne, and flipped several times.
She had severe head injuries and was transported to Upstate University Hospital, where she died early Saturday morning.
Trooper Anna was a 6-year veteran and was assigned to the Hastings barracks. She is survived by a 4-year old son, her fiance, and mother and step-father.
On Monday, people who knew Amanda Anna growing up in Fair Haven, Cayuga County say she could brighten a room the second she walked in.
"It was the kindness," said Judith Duda. "She was probably one of the kindest young ladies I knew."
"She smiled, she was pretty, she was talented but she was also one of the most empathatic, loving people I've ever known," said Betsey Ketcham. "Her first thought for everybody was, 'how are you? What are you doing? How do you feel?'"
Anna attended high school in Hannibal, where she was an accomplished basketball player and singer.
