Person of interest cleared in Lansing bank robbery investigation

The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office released video of the bank robbery in an attempt to identify the suspect.

(UPDATE: 1/22/18) The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office says the subject has been identified and is no longer a person of interest in the investigation.

(ORIGINAL STORY:) Anyone with information on the identity of the armed suspect in the case is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 607-257-1345.

Deputies investigating a robbery at a bank in Lansing are asking for help identifying a person of interest.

The person of interest is sought in connection to a robbery that happened at the Cornell Federal Credit Union on Sheraton Drive on Wednesday; video of a man armed with a gun robbing the bank was released Thursday.

In addition to the suspect with the gun, investigators are also looking to identify a person of interest.

Anyone who has information on either suspect is asked to contact the sheriff's office at 607-257-1345.
