The stage is set for MountainFest at Fort Drum next month.
National recording country music artists Chris Cagle and Gloriana will headline the Salute to the Troops Concert, expected to perform to a crowd of 25,000 people.
The day-long event is designed to thank the US Army's 10th Mountain Division for its service to our county, but the concert is free and open to the public as well.
Each year, the Division of Family, Morale, Welfare & Recreation holds MountainFest at Division Hill on Fort Drum.
Cagle rose to fame in the late 90s and early-to-mid 2000s, but is perhaps best known for his Number One hit, "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out" and "What Kinda Gone," which topped the charts in 2007.
Gloriana is popular on the charts now. You might recognize one of their songs, "Kissed You Goodnight."
The Salute to the Troops concert is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday evening, June 25.
Fireworks will follow.
Last year, 20,000 people attended the 2013 AmeriCU Salute to the Troops concert, headlined by fellow country music star, Craig Morgan. That event was recognized as the best Community/Public Relations event in the country by the Credit Union National Association.
The 10th Mountain Division, made up of Brigade Combat teams, a Combat Aviation Brigade, and a Special Troops Battalion, is one of the most deployed units of the US Army.
