State Fair officials urge fairgoers to use buses to ease traffic congestion

Going to the Fair? Taking the bus instead of the car will help traffic, officials say

With tens of thousands of people coming to the New York State Fairgrounds each day, officials are urging fairgoers to use the Centro Park-N-Ride lots to help ease traffic congestion.

Additional buses from around the state are running routes to and from the Fair this year, including a new lot at John Glenn and Farrell Road in Liverpool.

However, after having 97,390 people come through the gates Saturday, Fair officials say they noticed the new lot in Liverpool isn't getting a lot of use so far. As heavy traffic jams backed up vehicles heading towards the Fair Sunday, officials urged fairgoers to utilize that lot and the others scattered throughout Central New York and take a bus to the Fair instead of their cars, especially on the busy weekend days.
