Utica is the latest stop for a state-wide gun buyback effort.
Guns of all kinds are being accepted at Utica's Memorial Auditorium (400 Oriskany Street West) on Saturday, 9:30am - 1pm.
Utica Police and the State Attorney General's Office are sponsoring the buyback.
People who turn in guns will get a debit card:
$25 for antiques & non-working firearms
$50 for rifles and shotguns
$75 for handguns
$100 for assault weapons
The event is open to any individual, with no limit on the number of guns to be turned in (Licensed gun dealers and active or retired law enforcers are not eligible)
If you miss today, there will be more gun buybacks in Binghamton and Cheektowaga (Buffalo), though those dates are not scheduled yet.
