Head of Ithaca teacher aide group arrested

Ithaca police arrest a woman they say stole from a group that represents teacher's aides and classroom assistants in the Ithaca City School District.

Laureen Hamilton was the president of the Educational Support Professionals. Police say Hamilton admitted to making a number of unauthorized transactions during her time as president totaling about $7,000.

Hamilton was arrested on a charge of grand larceny in the 3rd degree. She was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and released on her own recognizance.
