A Herkimer County woman was taken to the hospital early Saturday after losing control of a snowmobile and crashing into a tree, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office said.
Tania Waterman, 35, of Middleville, was knocked unconscious and taken to St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica for a head injury. She was in critical condition.
The crash happened at about 3:32 a.m. in the Town of West Turin, the sheriff's office said. Waterman was driving a 2014 Ski-Doo 800cc snowmobile.
