Home badly damaged in Butternut Street fire

A three-story wood-frame home at 1104 Butternut Street in Syracuse was badly damaged in a fire on Sunday night.

The call came in around 7:30 p.m. and took firefighters approximately thirty minutes to extinguish.

One of the home's two occupants was inside at the time, but escaped unharmed after being awoken by a neighbor.

Syracuse fire officials say the house is not a loss, and that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
