A 24-year-old Ovid woman is facing charges after police say she drained $4,000 from an elderly womanâ??s bank account.
Stacey L. Courtright was employed as a home health aide to an Ithaca woman who lives on North Geneva Street.
Courtright turned herself in after an audit alerted authorities to the missing funds. Investigators say Courtright cashed 16 checks after forging the victimâ??s signature.
Courtright surrendered to Ithaca Police on Wednesday and was charged with third degree grand larceny.
She was released and is due back in court at a later date.
