Homemade explosive device found in Cortland County mailbox

Neighbors in Cortland County are encouraged to be extra careful when checking the mail.
Deputies say an explosive device damaged a mailbox in Cincinnattus Wednesday morning.
Deputies were called to Telephone Road around 7 a.m. Wednesday morning, where they found minimal damage to a mailbox at the address.
When they looked inside, investigators found what looked to be a homemade explosive device.
At this time, deputies aren't sure whether it was isolated to Telephone Road address.
