Hotels and restaurant downtown packed for Syracuse vs. Clemson

The excitement for the Syracuse vs. Clemson game Friday night was seen as fans from both sides prepared for the big game downtown.

Hotels and local businesses are expecting even more people to pack the streets tomorrow night.

"I hope they put on a good show I know it will be very difficult with a powerhouse like Clemson but we will see," Steve Ike said.

"Go tigers! We feel pretty strong that we are going to have a win," Willa Sewell said.

There's anticipation in the air as the Orange get ready to take on the defending ACC champs, the Clemson Tigers.

" We have been taking pictures everywhere with out Tiger rag oh yeah see go tigers, everywhere we go that's what we are seeing," Sewell said.

It's safe to say it's a busy weekend ahead for downtown Syracuse, since it's also parents weekend for students at Syracuse University.

Hotels like the Residence Inn by Marriott and Jefferson Clinton in Armory Square have been sold out for months.

"It's great for us, when they come in then go to the restaurants, it's great for them and great for the whole community. It's a big impact economically for the whole community, It's a fun time and they are really nice people that come to visit, they came here before and we are excited to have them back again," manager of the Jefferson Clinton Hotel, Steve Bush said.

The hotels have seen a steady flow of guests tonight and expect even more to fill in.

Many are booking two to three night stays.

And a day before the big game, fans from both sides can't wait to pack into at the Carrier Dome.

"I know Clemson is going to have a lot of folks travel so there will be a lot of Orange in the dome no matter who they are rooting for," Steve Ike said.
