Hotline available to help voters at the polls on Election Day
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 17:33:30 GMT —
Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has announced an Election Day Hotline aimed at giving every New Yorker their fair shot at voting on November 5.
The AG wants voters to call 800-771-7755 or email firstname.lastname@example.org anytime between 6 am and 9 pm on Election Day to report any problems at the polls.
â??My office is committed to full enforcement of the Voting Rights Act and other federal and state laws that require equal access to the ballot box,â?? the Attorney General said. â??Our Election Day hotline will help ensure that all eligible voters across our state are able to exercise their constitutionally protected right to vote on Election Day.â??
The hotline fist launched last year, and since then the Civil Rights Bureau has fielded hundreds of complaints from voters and, as a result, were able to work with election officials to help troubleshoot issues faced by voters at the polls.
