The Humane Association of CNY is holding a special event Labor Day weekend in an effort to have more cats adopted.
On Saturday August 31 and Sunday September 1, the Humane Association is holding its first Fee-Waived Adoption for cats 3 years old and up.
In a press release about the event, Shelter Director Christine McNeely said, "We do not want anyone to misunderstand our intent, it is because we value our older cats and believe they deserve a home, that we are having this special opportunity. Kittens are adopted quickly, but older cats are just as wonderful and become equally as attached to their owners, and we want them to have a lap to sit on every night."
McNeely says adoption guidelines are still in place for the Fee-Waived Adoption so that each cat gets its perfect match.
Kittens, cats under the age of three, puppies and dogs are also available for adoption, but you will be charged the adoption fee.
The Fee-Waived Adoption will be held at the Humane Association's shelter at 4915 1/2 West Taft Road in Liverpool. The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
