A former Syracuse resident has been arrested in Georgia, and now law enforcement officials in Onondaga County have called a news conference for Thursday morning.
Police in Douglas County, Georgia tell CNY Central that on Monday, Ronald S. Meadow was arrested on a charge of second degree murder. Meadow's estranged wife, Colleen Meadow, was strangled in her Fordham Road, Syracuse apartment in March of 1985.
Neither police nor prosecutors would confirm details of Ronald Meadow's murder charge, but published reports say it is in connection with Colleen Meadow's death.
Georgia deputies say Ronald Meadow was working at a local business in Douglas County, and was taken into custody without incident.
The D.A.'s office and Syracuse Police have called a news conference for Thursday morning "with regard to a pending investigation." Neither agency would comment on the specific topic of the news conference.
