Because of an ice storm, four counties are officially under a Winter Storm Emergency declaration from NY's governor, but at least two more have major power outages and road problems.
The Emergency Declarations cover St. Lawrence, Clinton, Essex and Franklin Counties. They have no unnecessary travel advisories, as well.
Jefferson and Lewis Counties also have winter storm warnings up. Lewis County has a no travel advisory. Both have major power outages, as well.
National Grid has 16-hundred extra workers, mostly linemen and tree trimmers, working in the storm area this weekend.
Early Sunday morning, the utility was posting expected time of power restoration on its power outage website, but just a few hours later, the number of outages increasted dramatically and the utility noted 'assessing conditions' instead of giving a time.
To see the list of outages and updates, click on the Power Outage website and then click on "Outages by Area." If you then click on the symbol next to a specific county you'll see information on specific communities.
