ICYMI in CNY: Benefit for abused dog, Erie Canal Conference

The dog has been named Lucky and was left starving and bruised with the owners no where to be found.

CENTRAL NEW YORK -- In case you missed it, hear are some stories from all over that have some interest here in Central New York.

In February, Lucky the dog was was surrendered to Trooper Husky Rescue after being found starving and bruised, in the Albany area. Now investigators from the Schenectady County SPCA are looking for the dog's former owner to charge her with misdemeanor neglect. Lucky has gained some weight and is doing better, but the care bills are mounting up. To help pay for good care for Lucky, there will be a benefit for him next Sunday afternoon at the Wagon Wheel in Oneida.

This summer on July 4th, marks 200 years since the start of the Erie Canal. The World of Canals Conference will be held in Syracuse in September at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown. Registration for the five day conference is now open.
