An inmate at the Otsego County Correctional Facility has been arrested for making threats to blow up the Otsego County Office Building in Cooperstown.
Investigators say in January 2013, 28 year old Timur Mustafa Demeril told other inmates that he wanted to blow up the building and kill people who worked there after he was released from jail. According to investigators, Demeril was in prison on a misdemeanor violation of probation at that time.
Investigators say Demeril has been in prison since that time. Just recently he was sentenced to time in prison for possessing a weapon while out on probation.
On Friday, June 14, Demeril was charged with violent felony after being interviewed by investigators. He faces up to another seven years in prison if he's convicted. Demeril is currently waiting to be transferred to Elmira State Prison.
