An Otsego County Jail inmate is facing charges after a series of violent events in late May.
27-year-old Justin Quackenbush was arrested on a variety of charges Monday afternoon. Officers say that on May 21, a homemade shank was found in his cell during a search. He was charged with promoting prison contraband.
On May 22, he threatened a correctional officer with a broom handle while cleaning and refused to lock his cell. Also on May 22, Quackenbush kicked at two correctional officers. He was charged with menacing and two counts of attempted assault for these incidents.
On May 26, officers say Quackenbush tried to flip a wooden table over onto a correctional officer. He is facing an attempted assault charge for this incident.
If convicted, Quackenbush could serve over 19 years in prison for these incidents, deputies say.
