Inmate who died in Syracuse accused in half-a-million dollar burglary ring
Onondaga County Sheriffâ??s deputies are investigating the death of an inmate who was found unresponsive in the Onondaga County Justice Center.
The inmate has been identified as Chanel Lakatosz, age 26, of Norridge Illinois.
Lakatosz was unresponsive in her cell this morning and transported to Upstate Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Lakatosz was arrested yesterday along with three others for involvement in a burglary ring.
They traveled to Onondaga County to steal from places around Manlius, Lysander, Clay, and Liverpool, taking as much as $544,000 worth of cash and high-end jewelry.
The cause of death is currently being investigated by the sheriff's office.
