Investigation underway into blaze at Heritage Stables in Skaneateles

A storage barn at Heritage Stables in Skaneateles is considered a total loss after a fire tore through it Wednesday evening. The fire started at 6:20 p.m. and drew fire crews from the Skaneateles, Owasco, Sennett, Jordan and Marcellus Fire Departments.

There was initial concern that the building that caught fire was a horse barn, but further investigation revealed it was a storage barn.

Onondaga County Sheriff's Department says there were no injuries to human or animal life.

Heritage Stables is a Hunter/Jumper Riding Academy providing riding lessons for beginners to nationals.

A horse show scheduled for this weekend is still on.
