Authorities say they've found several personal items belonging to an 84-year-old central New York man who hasn't been seen since he went on an overnight hiking and camping trip last week.
Police tell local media that a walking stick, pocket knife and shirt belonging to Donald Combs of Sauquoit have been found near Gull Lake in Herkimer County. His family says Combs planned to hike in the neighboring Oneida County town of Forestport, on the Adirondack Park's southwestern boundary.
Dive teams searched the lake Wednesday, the fourth day of search efforts being conducted by state police, state forest rangers and volunteer firefighters.
Combs left his home last Thursday and told his family planned to be gone for a day or two. They called police when he didn't return.
