It was an exciting night at Kitty Hoynes on Monday. An episode of "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" which featured the Irish pub and restaurant premiered at 10pm on the Food Network.
Kitty Hoynes hosted a watch party which featured popcorn, candy, Hollywood themed decorations, and appetizer samples.
Host Guy Fieri showed head chef, Damien Brownlow making an irish meatloaf and reuben fritters.
The episode was taped in August while Fieri was in Syracuse for the New York State Fair.
When the show debuted, the crowd in Kitty Hoynes cheered and laughed, especially when Fieri used phrases like "the real deal" to describe the Irish establishment.
Owner David Hoynes says being featured on the Food Network's number one show is a great opportunity for Syracuse.
Kitty Hoynes is one of 6 local restuarants which will be featured on the popular Food Network show. Byblos Mediterranean Cafe, Eva's European Sweets, Empire Brewing Co., Pastabilities, and Funk n' Waffles will also be featured this year.
