Is actor Ryan Gosling in Central New York?

Ryan Gosling

He spent part of the summer of 2011 working in the Capital Region, but this weekend he might be relaxing in Central New York.

The Twittersphere is buzzing with murmurings over whether actor Ryan Gosling could be renting a home in Skaneateles. As we know, the proof is, or isnâ??t, in the pictures. As of 11:30 Friday morning, none had been posted yet.

Several people however are keeping their eyes peeled for a sighting of the star of "The Notebook" (2004).

In 2011, Gosling, Bradley Cooper, and Eva Mendes spent part of the summer filming in and around Schenectady, the setting for "The Place Beyond the Pines."

Written by a Niskayuna High School alum, the film's title refers to the Mohawk Indian translation of Schenectady. Students from Schenectady High School were featured as extras in the film. Gosling's character was a stunt motorcycle rider who robbed banks to support his family.

A few other lines on his acting resume include leading roles in "Half Nelson" (2006), "Lars and the Real Girl" (2007), "Blue Valentine" (2010), "Crazy, Stupid Love" (2011), "The Ides of March" (2011), and "Gangster Squad" (2013).

Last March, he decided to take a break from acting. He currently resides in New York City.
