Ithaca cemetery president charged with stealing money and property

Scott Goodrich

The president of a local cemetery has been charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars in cash and property from its grounds.

State Police say 50-year-old Scott E. Goodrich of Enfield was arrested on February 18 and charged with felony third degree grand larceny. Troopers say in late January they were called to the Lake View Cemetery on East Shore Drive in Ithaca for a report of stolen law equipment. After an investigation, police say they determined that Goodrich, the president of the cemetery, had stolen more than $50,000 in money and other items from the cemetery from 2013-2014.

Goodrich was arraigned in Ithaca Town Court and released. He is due back in court on February 27.

Police say the investigation continues.
