Ithaca ice jam causes flooding, crews working to fix the jam

Ithaca Fire officials are alerting neighbors of and ice jam in the Cascadilla Creek that's causing flooding in the Dey Street Area.

Police, Fire and DPW crews are asking everyone to avoid the North East Corridor of the city, Route 13 and the Dey Street Area near The Huant nightclub.

Anyone living in the Fall Creek Neighborhoods should check their sump pumps and basements. DPW is working on getting the ice jam cleared to free up the creek and alleviate flooding.

City officials say a command post has been established on Willow Avenue. Ithaca Police, the Ithaca Fire Department and DPW are working together to mitigate the flood.
