Ithaca man arrested after woman wakes to find him grabbing her foot during 1 of 3 burglaries

Ithaca Police and officers from Cornell Police were called to a burglary in progress on the 300 block on Thurston Avenue at about 3:08 am. Police say the caller saw a man trying to get into an apartment window, but the suspect ran when he noticed the caller watching him.

Another call was received at almost the same time from the 300 block of Wyckoff Avenue, saying a man was inside.

Police responded and found 21-year-old Byung Jun Lee, who ran when he saw the officers. Police gave chase and caught Lee in the 400 block of Wyckoff Avenue.

Police got another call just after Lee was taken into custody that a man had broken into a home on 400 block of Thurston Avenue. A woman woke to find a man had reached under the covers and grabbed her foot. When the woman confronted the man, he ran.

The investigation tied Lee to all three break-ins.

Lee was charged with three counts of burglary, criminal mischief and obstructing.

He is being held on $5000 bail.
