Ithaca man has assault rifle shoved in his mouth during robbery

An Ithaca man was assaulted and robbed by three men at about 12:37 am Saturday, one of them putting an assault rifle in his mouth, according to investigators.

Police say the victim had been drinking at his apartment at West Village Place and then decided to walk into Ithaca. When he reached the intersection of Elm Street and the access road to the apartment complex, the victim told police a car pulled up and three white men jumped out. Police say the victim was then assaulted and that one of the suspects put an assault rifle in the victimsâ?? mouth while they robbed him. The suspects stole the victimsâ?? phone and wallet and then took off, according to police.

The victim told police the suspects were white males and that one of them was â??huskyâ??. He also said they were driving a white, mid 1990â??s sedan.
