Ithaca Police: 'Armed and dangerous' suspect shoots man in groin

Zavierus King

A 21-year old man is in stable but serious condition at an area hospital after being shot in the groin and buttocks area in Ithaca Monday night.

Now, Ithaca Police are asking for your help as they search for the suspect -- who they say should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators are looking for Zavierus King, who they've learned goes by the alias "Biggum." King is described as an 18 year old black male, 6 feet tall, around 185 pounds, with dark eyes and dark hair.

Police were called to the intersection of West Green Street and South Plain Street late Monday night on a report gunshots were fired. That's where they found the victim lying in the street, with a wound.

They say he underwent emergency surgery last night, and may need to be operated on again.

Investigators say he and King got into an argument before the shooting.

If you have any information that could help police find King, you're asked to call Ithaca Police at (607) 272-9973 x3230.
