Ithaca Police look for answers after shots fired

On Sunday, Ithaca Police responded to several calls for shots fired in the area of Wood Street and South Plain Street.

Police did not locate any victims, but witnesses reported seeing a person firing shots from outside a black SUV on the 300 block of Wood Street. Witnesses also saw a silver Toyota or Audi behind the SUV immediately flee the scene. The black SUV was last seen turning north onto South Meadow Street.

Ithaca Police believe a small caliber handgun was used. There are no reports that any victims were treated for gunshot wounds at area hospitals.
