Ithaca Police use taser to control young suspect

Ithaca Police officers used a taser on an unidentified teen Friday evening. An officer was responding to complaints about graffiti vandalism inside the parking garage on Cayuga Street when they found four teens on the seventh floor of the garage.

Investigators say one of the teens grew hostile towards the officer and tried to choke the officer. The situation escalated to a foot chase, during which police say they used a taser to get control of the suspect. Ithaca Police have not identified the young suspect they used the taser on, or revealed the person's age. Police said there were no injuries to the officers involved or the young suspect.
