An Ithaca woman is facing charges after State Police say she drove her car into a swamp.
Tompkins County 911 received a call reporting an erratic driver, with a road barrel stuck under the vehicle, in the parking lot of Shurfine Grocery on Trumans Road in Ulysses.
Troopers found that the driver, 23-year-old Kristen L. Avery, had driven her vehicle into a swampy area behind the store and was stuck. The investigation showed that Avery was drunk during the incident.
Avery is charged with felony DWI.
