The Jamesville-DeWitt Board of Education voted unanimously on Monday night to accept the money raised for a new turf field.
The Jamesville-Dewitt Turf and Track Community Board is gifting the district with more then $700,000 for a 195-foot turf field, as well as new lights and a resurfaced track.
At Monday night's meeting, J-D Superintendent Dr. Alice Kendrick said plans are going well and are just about done.
Dr. Kendrick expects electrical plans for the new lighting will be completed within the next few days.
The plans will head to Albany later this week. The bidding process will then begin, giving the district a better idea of how much the project will precisely cost.
