JD turf field one step closer to becoming reality

The Jamesville-DeWitt turf field is one step closer to becoming a reality.

At the board meeting Monday, the JD Turf and Track Committee offered to hand over $832,780 in cash, plus in kind donations, totaling nearly $1 million.

The school board agreed to aid the committee and work to build a new turf field, including a new track and lighting. The project is expected to be completed in the fall of 2015.

The project will go before voters in early fall, and will present no tax increase to neighbors, according to the district.
