Jefferson County man caught speeding at 116 mph with 3-year-old in car

Authorities say a northern New York man was clocked driving more than 100 mph with his 3-year-old son in his vehicle, then tried to elude police attempting to stop him.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that police using radar timed 23-year-old Corey White's speed at 116 on state Route 12E Monday night in the town of Lyme.

Officials say White, from the neighboring town of Cape Vincent, attempted to elude the deputy trying to pull him over by passing two vehicles and turning onto another road. He pulled over soon after.

White was charged with speeding, reckless driving, unlawfully fleeing a police car and endangering the welfare of a child. He was issued tickets and ordered to appear in Lyme Town Court at a later date.
