The Syracuse Airport has announced that JetBlue has canceled all flights between Syracuse and JFK Monday.
The news, which came Monday morning, is on the heels of flight cancellations across the nation amid extreme winter weather. Travelers were stranded at Hancock International Airport earlier this week due to large amounts of snowfall at destination airports. JFK in New York City was closed entirely on Friday due to weather, and on Sunday, after a plane slid off a runway.
Airport Commissioner Christina Callahan says the JetBlue cancellations are a result of severe weather that impacted operations last week, and now, many airlines are trying to catch up. She urges anyone planning on traveling this week to check the status of their flight with their individual airline.
For more information on Monday's JetBlue flights, airport officials say to contact JetBlue directly.
