The popular rock band Journey is in serious talks with the New York State Fair to perform this summer.
The website Pollstar, which tracks and promotes concerts, already has the date posted. Pollstar says Journey will be joined by Foreigner and Night Ranger for a concert on August 30 at the Mohegan Sun Grandstand.
State Fair Director Dan O'Hara confirms to CNY Central The Fair is in the final stages of negotiating with Journey for this concert. O'Hara recalls the band sold out at the Grandstand the last time it performed.
"We are dotting the I's and crossing the T's at this point," O'Hara says.
The Fair does not 100% confirm acts until it has signed contracts and every detail is worked out. In the past The Fair has not announced concerts until at least the beginning of summer.
