A Skaneateles man was found guilty on several charges, including second degree murder, after stabbing 28-year-old Matt Prego to death after a fight in Auburn in September of 2013.

Police say 29-year-old Kevin Ritchie had beaten and choked Matt Pregoâ??s girlfriend, and when Prego arrived at 33 Case Avenue to pick her up, the two started to fight.

Police say Ritchie left, and returned less than a minute later with a large knife and stabbed Prego four times in the chest and abdomen and then ran.

Ritchie was able to get rid of the knife, officials say, which was never found. He was found hiding in bushes by police.

Ritchie was convicted of second degree murder, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon and assault. He was also charged with obstructing governmental administration and tampering with evidence.
